Organization Description : The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.

Educational Qualification :
1.Junior Technician (X-Ray) : B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-ray) /B.Sc. Medical Technology Radiology / B.Sc. Medical Technology Radiodiagnosis & Imaging Technology.
2.Junior Speech Therapist : B.Sc. Speech and Hearing from a recognized University/Institution.
Desirable:- One year’s experience (clinical) in speech and Audiology in medical institute of repute.
3.Junior Speech Therapist : B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiology/ Radiotherapy).
4.Junior Technician (Lab.) : B.Sc. Medical Lab. Technology OR B.Sc. with Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology.
5.Operation Theater Assistant : i) Matric with science from a recognized Board/University.
ii) One year Diploma in Operation Theatre Techniques from a reputed Hospital/Institute.
6.Projectionist : Matriculation with sound knowledge of Hindi. EXPERIENCE:- Handling, minor and major repairing of all makes of projectors, battery and electric cinematography.
7.Dental Mechanic Grade-II : 1. Matric with science.
2. Dental mechanic course of two years duration from a recognized Dental Institution. The course should be
approved by the Dental Council of India.
Desirable:- 1. Experience of two years as Dental Mechanic.
2. Special training/experience in crown and bridge chrome cobalt, myofunctional orthodontic appliances.
8.Dark Room Assistant Gr.III (X-Ray) : i) Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University.
ii) Diploma or certificate in radiography of minimum one year’s duration from a recognized Institution.
Desirable:- One year’s experience as Dark Room Assistant in a hospital.
9.Photographic Assistant : i) Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized University.
ii) ITI certificate in the trade OR One year experience of Dark Room work including processing and printing of black and white and colour films.
Desirable:- Experience of still and movie photography and preparation of projection slides.

Pay scale :
Pay Scale for Sr. No. 1 to 4 is Rs.9300-34800 + GP 4200/-.
Pay Scale for Sr. No. 5 to 6 is Rs.5200-20200 + GP 2800/-.
Pay Scale for Sr. No. 7 is Rs.5200-20200 + GP 2400/-.
Pay Scale for Sr. No. 8 to 9 is Rs.5200-20200 + GP 1900/-
