: The Coast Guard is the principal agency for enforcement of provisions of all national enactment in force in the maritime zones of India and provides following services to the Nation and marine community. Ensuring safety and protection of the artificial islands, offshore installations and other structure in our maritime zones. Providing protection to fishermen and assistance to them at sea while in distress. Preservation and protection of our maritime environment including prevention and control of maritime pollution. Assistance to the Department of Custom and other authorities in anti-smuggling operations. Enforcement of MZI Acts. Initiating measures for the safety of life and property at sea.

Selection Procedure:-
(a) Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents:
(i) Two copy of pre-filled online application.
(ii) Original certificate of tenth class for date of birth verification.
(iii) Original mark sheet and certificates of three year diploma.
(iv) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, college ID
card or any other photo identity proof.
(v) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format.
(vi) Two recent colour passport size photographs.

(b) Those who qualify written test will undergo PFT, interview and recruitment Medical Examination (Preliminary), The testing procedure will take 3-4 days.
(c) The question paper will contain questions from their respective discipline
(Mechanical /Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication) in bilingual.
(d) The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for all those who pass the written test. The PFT will consist as under:-* 1.6 Km run to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
* 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
* 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
(e) Candidates those who qualify the above tests will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centre.
(f) The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The All India select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in in the month of Jan 13.

(i) The guidelines to fill the application will be displayed and must be read by the candidates. Click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' will be displayed. Select the 'Yantrik' entry button and fill all the particulars for the desired branch i.e.Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic. Candidates can apply for one branch only. Multiple applications by the same candidate will be rejected.
(ii) After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration
number, venue and date of test will be provided to the candidate. The filled
Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number’ will be displayed. The last date of applying online is 17 Sep 12. (iii) After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two
copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, three year diploma certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects and percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and NCC certificate/games certificate duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate and submitted at the examination centre. Second copy without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of test shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
(iv) Candidates can choose any one venue from the options displayed as his first choice. A second centre is also required to be selected from the list indicated.
(v) Candidates must submit only one 'Online' application. Receipt of multiple
applications from the same candidates will result in cancellation of candidature.
(vi) Name of candidate, father/mother's name and date of birth should be as
given in the 10th class certificate.
(vii) While filling up the application form, candidates are required to indicate
exact percentage of diploma upto two decimals without rounding off. Any false entry of percentage detected at any stage of selection will be outrightly rejected.
