The University of Delhi
is one of the premier institution of higher education in India. The university
was established in 1922 and is completely funded by Government of India. The
university is known to offer a variety of courses at the undergraduate and
post-graduate levels.

Delhi University
started with only three colleges namely St. Stephen’s College founded in 1881,
Hindu College founded in 1899 and Ramjas College founded in 1917. The
university thus had a modest beginning with three colleges, two faculties (Arts
and Science) and about 750 students only.
Admission Process

The student who wants to apply in any of the
college of the Delhi University for any
UG or PG course first have to buy a ‘central admission form’ from
university counter and submit it back there.

The form is an OMR one and therefore allows the students
to apply simultaneously to multiple courses and colleges.
·
After the deadline of form submission, a college
wise datasheets containing the details of all the students who have expressed
interest in the college is prepared by the university.
·
After that a cut-off list is prepared for
various colleges.
·
After it the student needs to report to the
college he has selected for filling up the admission form.
The admission criteria of various colleges are published in
University’s Information Bulletin and is also displayed on the official website
of university.
