UGC NET Qualifying Criteria for the exam of December 2013 as well as for the June 2014 with all the latest updates and changes.

According to the new guidelines provided by University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) there had been last minute changes in the exam pattern made for qualifying the NET Exam.

These sudden changes might have closed the opportunity for thousands of candidates from being a lecturer in different educational institutes.

NET December 2013- June 2014 Change in Qualifying Criteria:

Firstly, the paper is now being taken in objective manner and instead of two papers; three paper patterns have been introduced in the system.

First	I	100	60 out of which 50 question to be attempted	1¼ Hours (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)
First	II	100	50 questions all are compulsory	1¼ Hours (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)
Second	III	150	75 questions all are compulsory	2½ Hours (01.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.)

The candidates must have the minimum qualifying criteria separately for each paper to qualify NET Exam as given below in the table.

It had came into being that the students holding Ph.D degree are exempted from sitting in the exam, while, NET / SET (State Eligibility Test) must be cleared for the post of assistant professor in higher secondary and university level educational institutes. This exemption for Ph.D holders fall under the regulation act of 2009 in accordance with UGC.
