IIST has scrapped ISAT 2013 Entrance Exam and will now conduct the admissions in the Undergraduate courses on the basis of JEE Main 2013 score. The candidates have to now give only JEE Main 2013 to get admission in IIST.

ISAT 2013 Entrance Exam will be conducted for admission in the B. Tech. Courses offered by the IIST-Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology for the year 2013.


The seat matrix for the B. Tech. Programmes under ISAT 2013 is as follows:

  1. Aerospace Engineering        : 60
  2. Avionics                                : 60
  3. Physical Sciences                  : 36

Resrvation of seats in ISAT 2013 Entrance Exam will be governed by the Govt. of India Rules for Central Educational Institutions (CEI).


The official website of the exam is www.iist.ac.in/isat2013, where the candidates have to REGISTER ONLINE.


They have to fill the ISAT Online Application Form. This procedure requires a valid email id of the candidate which has to be kept alive and secured till the admission process is complete.


The online registration for ISAT 2013 will be open from the first week of November 2012 to the last week of December 2012.


The OBC and GEN category candidates have to submit a NON-REFUNDABLE Examination Fee for ISAT 2013 of Rs. 600/- and Rs. 300/-  for ST, SC, and PD.

Prior applying for ISAT 2013, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills all the conditions of the eligibility criteria.


Candidate has to choose at least 3 different cities as the examination centers for ISAT 2013 in the order of preference from the list given in the brochure.

The test center allocation for ISAT 2013 Entrance Exam will be done on the preference order of the candidate but, IIST reserves all rights to change or cancel any of them due to lack of participation from that region.


No request for change of any information filled in the Online Application From of ISAT 2013 will be entertained at any stage for any candidate.


After the successful Registration, a unique ISAT 2013 REGISTRATION NUMBER will be allotted to every candidate. It should be preserved till the admission process is complete and is to be used in all the future references.

Once the registration is complete, the candidate has to download the CHALLAN FORM IN TRIPLICATE from the website of ISAT 2013 for remitting the fee in any one branch of SBI, PNB or UBI.


ISAT 2013 fee will not be remitted in any other form.


NRI candidates, however, can remit their fee from any abroad bank, via a DD drawn in favor of :

The DD should be payable at THIRUVANANTHAPURAM. 

Any DD of ISAT 2013 fee from any INDIAN BANK will NOT be ACCEPTED.


The last date of fee remittance will be around the first week of January 2013.

Out of the 3 Copies of CHALLAN, INSTITUTE COPY should be sent via SPEED POST till the third week of January 2013 with the REGISTRATION NUMBER of the candidate mentioned clearly atop the envelope

No other documents must be sent with the Institute copy of CHALLAN.


No acknowledgment receipt for ISAT 2013 will be sent to any candidate individually. However, the candidates can check the status of their application on the IIST website-www.iist.ac.in/isat2013 by the third week of February 2013.


There will be a portal for checking the application status of ISAT 2013, where the candidate has to enter his/her Registration Number as the login id and password as the one specified during registering for ISAT 2013.


The HALL TICKETS will be available on the websites by the first week of March 2013, which have to be downloaded and print out by the candidates. ISAT 2013 Hall ticket will bear the details of examination center, candidate’s credentials and a space to affix recent photograph and signature of the candidate.


The candidates have to attest this hall ticket of ISAT 2013 by the Head of the Institution he/she studied at or is studying.


The facility of downloading the ADMIT CARD/HALL TICKET will end during the second week of April 2013.


Candidates have to bring their Hall Ticekts on the day of ISAT 2013 Entrance Exam as without them, nobody would be allowed to sit in the exam.
